Sequins and Dizzee

Sounds like all you need for a great night out right? But actually I was finishing my sequin art whilst listening to Dizzee Rascal’s first album ‘Boy in da Corner’ on Radio 1’s Masterpieces the other night. This picture will forever be associated with his rather haunting music describing the story of his life on a council estate in Bow. Other than that I think the two ideas are pretty incongruous, but I can’t look at the horses now without thinking of Dizzee. Think I might use the sequin idea on one of the lightning line drawings, the pink one with the flowers probably, using sequins for the gold lines and perhaps other stitching techniques for the pattern, maybe with paint on a canvas. I think that might look really striking.
